Maybe, but I'm still a fan of Modern Balanced Amplifiers. I have no intention of going back to SE amps if I can help it :3

that said, those SE Vintages amps do look sweet! I'm going to get a chance to hear Matt TCG's like $1000 restored Pioneer at a meet here soon :D hope some one will have a 4pin XLR to SE adapter xD

He's going to lug that 50 pound beast to a meet? Man, lucky you, hopefully you get a chance to run the he4 on it.

That he is! We asked and he agree'd to let us hear it.

I will, I've got a SE cable for the HE 4 [a shame to use it on such a nice vintage] but either way I'll compre it to my lovely hm801 and pb2, :3 which is atm my "warm" set up lol.

I'd very much like to try some balanced audio gd stuff. Love checking out that website. There's always some awesome new toy with a crazy name/number attached to it.

I might still run speaker taps just to try it out as well.

Yup, the good and/or bad thing about KingWa's gear

it always get;s better, which means you will wind up with an outdated amp pretty quick. But for the price point most of what he sells is wonderful! I love my NFb 10ES2, going to be a long time before I upgrade it

Sorry I am a noob here, but what is an SE amp?

Single End, sorry for the Short Hand

and the only reason I even went to Balanced amps was the power they provided and the size they offered it in, my pb2 for example can push about 2.5w a channel I belive!

It's nice though to finally have a headphone that really needs and benifits from all the juice

I sold my DT 880 just now so I'm the new guy here offically! My HE 4 should b in tommorow or Tuesday

No worries. I am still learning the lingo around here  You will like the HE-4. I don't know how they compare to the DT880, but I hope they are a step up.

many experinced head fi members feel they are a step up, if anything the only improvement they'll have is in Sub Bass and sound stage which would be worth it

I am finding that the sound you get from the HE-4 is dependent on the recording. For example, my Bob Marley album sounds great, but Led Zeppelin sounds the same as they did on my 1984 stereo boombox.
