After reading about how good the Little Dot 1+ is with low impedence headphones, and how little it costs, I figured I didnt have much to lose in ordering one. Boy!, was I in for a surprise, I liked it so much, that I bought a second one for my vintage system. And this is with the stock tubes, so there might still be room for improvement.
 
Some might say that the Little Dot 1+ is not enough amp for the PS1000, I say it's a great amplifier, regardless of price, period,

Although I have no idea if this is true but Ive read somewhere that the Naim Headline2 paired with a Teddy Pardo PSU is supposed to be very good for the PS1000. I bought a Headline2 once to build a system for the PS1000 but sold it off in another deal, so never got to try the PS1000s....

I will, but for now, i just want to get a good feel of the amp sounds with the stock tubes.

The stock tubes are pretty bad VS what you can roll... also the stock op amp is somewhat limiting (i.e. treble grain, average instrument seperation)
 
if your looking for a bunch of tubes I'm selling a sampler pack in the for sale area.

I just took delivery of a new balanced PS1000. Been listening for a couple of hours now and must say I am pleased with what I am hearing.It has been my practice in the past to keep new headphones running for about 100 hours to facilitate burn-in. In the document that came with the headphone it specifically recommended against this. Any comments as to why that might be?
 
Also the only thing I could find that might be a serial # is written on the box...nothing I could find on the phone itself. Bought these new from Moon Audio so I am sure they are legit but never had a serialized headphone without it on the phone itself....is it hidden someplace?

The serial is beneath the earpads next to the cable hole, on the wood.

I have no idea why they don't want you tu burn them in though?

The guys at my local hi fi shop where I bought mine also warned me against letting the PS-1000 play for days to burn them in. Said the word from Grado was that it would damage the drivers.

My PS1000 shows its magic after 6 months of usage....approximately 500 hrs of burn-in time.

I haven't had these a week yet but find them terrific....I think they are the best cans I have at low volume

^Glad you are enjoying them. I find them the best I've heard at any volume mid-level or below. But I've never heard a Grado that could play comfortably above mid-level, and I don't like to play at those volumes anyway.

I don't know if that makes any sense, but I think that the PS1000 have a way of reproducing music in an effortless manner.

I stumbled across a pair of "black chrome" Grado PS-1000 headphones on Ebay.  I'm not affiliated with the seller, just sharing a beautiful picture in the appropriate appreciation thread.  Grado should offer a 2nd choice for the PS-1000.  The black chrome is sexy!
