What would you do if you could no longer enjoy your hobby?

This crossed my mind recently, mostly because of an accident that I was involved in. But how would guys cope if you suddenly was unable to enjoy the high quality gear you have brought? Especially headphones and amps.

For example, if you were to lose hearing or something like that.

If I lost my hearing? I'd go jump off a building.

I had to give up a VERY passionate hobby I had when my children were born... RC Helicopters. It was just too expensive and time consuming. I hope to revisit the hobby once the kids are older and can participate with me :)

(Guess I didnt really give it up, if I plan on revisiting it but I sure miss it)

Lose hearing? I'm not going to miss hi-fi gear, but I am going to miss being able to compose and arrange music which is far greater than the enjoyment audiophiles get. It would hurt if I had a music studio and couldn't hear anymore. Well, I would continue to run my future business nonetheless so that's a plus.

I'd find a good home for each piece of gear and then roll that money into a new hobby.  It'd be awful at first, but I'd get used to it and come to love something else.

If I ever loss the ability to enjoy music, I would suffer symptoms of withdrawal not unlike those from quitting hard drugs. Then I would man up, get out, and shoot some frames. Onwards to camera-fi for me.

There are always photography, guns, knives, pens, watches, and everything else Head-Fiers such as myself seem to be interested in. One less hobby would just be nicer to my wallet (or just nicer to my other hobbies)
