I have this same pair of headphones and just yesterday the plastic piece that connects the left cup to the headband busted. I would normally just go buy another pair but as you and I predicted wal-mart seems to no longer be selling them. So I'm stuck attempting to fix them. That is unless you or someone else on this forum knows of a wal-mart that is still selling these headphones. If you or anyone on here knows of a wal-mart that is close to them that still sells these headphones please let me know.

I remember my wal-mart had a pair a few weeks ago...not sure if it does anymore though.  I'll have to go check.

I'm guessing this should be in every walmart in Canada? Or maybe not? I'm not sure how walmart does it distribution of products.

Not all of them, I was just in one the other day and they didn't have them - but there was another one that had them (a huge super-wal-mart store).

Still contemplating getting a pair for the hell of it...

I just picked up a pair at the larger Kitchener (ON) Wal-Mart for $20.  WOW!!!  That's all I can say.  I needed a new pair for work, after my old Technics headphones broke for the last time (they're 13 years, and they've been falling apart for about 7 of those years).

These sound far better than the $90 (in 1998 dollars) headphones that they'll be replacing!  I'm just testing them on my NAD stereo amp, and they sound great.  Comparing them to my old K240's, yes they're not that good.  But the bang for the buck at $20 is mindblowing (granted I got the K240's for $10 - so better bang there!).  I just wish they had the comfort of the K240's (since I wear headphones for hours at work).

That store is out, but I may have a look at other nearby stores.

If any of you happen to be able to purchase a pair at a store nearby you still and would be willing to send me a pair please let me know. I am more than willing to pay shipping and of course purchase price plus some "for your trouble" money to whomever would be willing to help me. Besides my pair being seemingly busted beyond repair, the reason I want another pair of these headphones so bad is because there within my price range and are of good enough quality to satiate my audiophile requirements until I have some serious coin to drop on some proper headphones. Please realize this is a legit request. Send me a message on here asap if you think you can help.

Looks like I posted in the portable subforum thread by accident, but anyway...

I bought a pair of these for my parents a while back. Had a chance to tinker them around this thanksgiving weekend. It takes some fidgeting to get Hifiman velour earpads on these, but man the SQ and comfort improvement bewilders me.

Sinewave sweeps show the resulting frequency response to be extraordinarily flat, with a robust bass down to 30 Hz, and very, very smooth midrange and treble responses, good treble extension with just slight roll-off between 12kHz and 17kHz. I daresay these have a similar warmish tonal balance as my Jergpadded HE500s, but even more neutral.

The best trait these have is their extreme openness; some binaural tracks show that you can get some realistic out-of-the-head experience with these. Soundstage is just excellent, layering is great for a dynamic, and imaging is quite convincing too.

Detail / resolution is more than acceptable, though not at HE400 or HE500's levels. Transients are adequate but again, not at the planars' levels, meaning with very busy complex passages these still choke a little.

But at $40 (headphone) + $10 (hifiman velour pads) = $50, these sound flat out better than the vast majority of other traditional domed voice coil dynamic headphones I've auditioned or owned thus far, and IMO trade blows with the best of this category I've heard (HD650 for instance).

The only downside is I don't know if Canadian Wal-marts sell these anymore.
