Well suffice to say that listening to the LCD-2 for the last couple of days has got me contemplating selling all my other headphones.  I've heard of a honeymoon period before but Ive never felt it so strongly... hehe.  I guess that's the biggest compliment I can pay it at this early stage.

Haven't done any direct comparisons but I can safely say the LCD-2 is the best sounding headphone I've heard so far.  Of course YMMV.  My only decision left is what to do with all my other headphones now...

After hearing a good Ortho (especially the LCD-2) it's normal to want to just sell your other phones. After you've heard the best all other headphones just end up collecting dust anyway. 
 
The only other headphone that I've heard that sounds better than an LCD-2 is a Stax Omega MK1 and those are virtually unattainable. For closed headphones fans a well tuned Thunderpants might beat an LCD-2 as well. 
 
On a side note, I was really surprised at how my AD2000 sounded compared to an HD800 at the last meet I went to. I didn't really listen to the HD800 for as long as I should have but the similarities blew my mind.
