hahaha..! true. headphoning is definitely not a hobby that attracts the ladies... lol.
fortunately, i have other, more "sexy", hobbies.
the first time my hot neighbour entered my house and saw 30 headphones on a table, her reaction was "dude! what the..? are you a smuggler or a psycho, or both? hahaha..." (she was joking, i hope...).
for her, it was like having 30 micro-waves or something.
but after some explanations and a few shots vodka everything went ok and we spent a unforgettable evening...

Not true anymore. Sure, aesthetics play a role with women and headphone selection(I'm guilty of that myself, hence my V-MODA obsession,) but the female audiophile isn't as elusive as you'd think. We have plenty of ladies on Head-Fi whose headphone collections and/or experiences put many of us to shame. I'd compare it to the myth about the non-existence of girl gamers. They are out there.

Plenty? Yes, plenty of girls wear heaphones in the streets, on the bus, the train... no doubt it has become a fashion accessory (thx dr. dre...) and i find that sexy.
But do you mean that because we have plenty of ladies on head-fi there are plenty of girls INTO headphones in general?
Wearing a headphone and spending a lot of time with headphones are two different things.
Even the two DJ girls that I know don't give a shizzle about headphones... They do love their Senn HD-25 A LOT, but that's all, it's a workhorse.
There's no way they will buy other HPs, compare signatures, FR, presentation, visit head-fi, or even talk more than 5 mins about headphones.
 
oh, and that's true for 95% of men too... it's not specific to girls.
