Grado PS-1

i had a balanced PS1 for a while and definitely preferred it over the other premier bass-heavy headphone - the L3000. it's a solid headphone with great bass and good resolution but comes at a price. if you love the grado sound (upfront and a bit shouty) then the PS1 along with an HP1000 is definitely one to try.

I have one but it's fitted with HP-1000 drivers.

Still have mine.
  I agree the best of the modern Grados,only complaint the weight makes long term listening a issue.

I have a pair with gsk pad. It is my heavyest and best bass cans.

But I do afriad to the risk of driver damage. Also, Mr grado seem not so happy with this headphone.

 How do they sound balanced out of the BA. Also how did they sound single ended compared to balanced.

how do you find changing to bagel pads affects the sound? i'd be concerned that it could screw it  up, having heard them with the standard bowl pads and with flats - it's a sweet can!
 
why do think mr. grado isn't happy with it? John moves on when he's done with a design. it was a limited edition phone made to spec for a german distributor. iirc, ttvj had a few of them for usa distribution.

As I got a big ear, it is seem that the GSK pad havn't got huge negative on PS1, but also don't help the sound stage. Just for better comfont~~. It is ture that the details maybe lost a bit compare to bowl pad, but it is really not a big differnet that I will not notice on the normal listening.
 
I think Mr Grado aren't so happy with PS1 as Mr. Grado don't talk on PS1 on public interview, esp before the PSK release. It is not really Mr. Grado don't like the sound of PS1, I think, but the other problem.
