Does anybody have a clue why more and more pics don't get displayed any more recently?

  1. First thing I noticed 2 weeks ago was that sometimes pics only got displayed as faulty links, although the preview had always looked perfect.
  2. Next thing was that post #2 of my "eternal" MS1000 thread obviously had developed similar issues (had been fine for years before).
  3. Then I looked into my default album and got a (kind of) shock, as approx. 30% of my pic stuff wasn't available any more.

As I have understood it, headfi regards itself as #1 place for HP audio geeks, but the software should keep up with this claim. I'm really not of the want-the-old-engine sort, but in this case I wish I was able to link to Imageshack or alike, which had worked perfectly for years.

DISCAIMER - This is principally a copy of a thread I started today in the member's lounge, wasn't aware of the existance of a feedback forum.

Yeah, I have noticed the same thing.
Both for picture posted by someone else, and also pictures posted by myself. Really annoying.

I completely switched to an external hosting service (ImageShack to be specific) and since then I have no issues with my own pictures. Others on the other hand...

I don't think that external hosting makes any difference. Whenever you want to insert graphic material, you get a prompt to either specify the local path or the external hoster (mine is Photobucket). In both cases, the pics get added to your personaly headfi album (which doesn't work properly), and everything you do gets feeded from there.

Yeah, I guess you are right.
Forgot to mention that I manually write the html code to embed the picture.

Something definitely broken in the forum software.

How is the exact syntax?

Valuable info, thank you.

Did a <img src="link_to_picture" /> orgy, worked fine. A working forum engine would have been nicer though...

Anyone having issues with images duplicating in your album?

If I import an image from my hard drive, it adds to my album. Ok, that I understand. But when I later reuse that image, I grab the url for the image (assets.head-fi.org something something) and insert it, I later check my album and I now have a second copy of that image.

I recently tried helping someone out with posting pics and went through their album and posted their pics... but then I later looked and it appears that their images were copied over to my album as well.

Really looks like the pic part is the achilles' heel of that huddler forum SW.

So I'm still getting this problem of images duplicating in my album. Anyone else? Can we post pics without them importing into our default album?

I assume that's a feature and not a bug...
