[Review] Ortofon HD-Q7 - Page 3

I wanted to post a quick impression of the Ortofon HD-Q7 amp.

I did a comparison between the Ortofon and the Kicas Caliente using the iStreamer and my Denon 7000s.

In short, I found the Ortofon to be incredibly detailed but also a little bright bordering on shrill at times and not easy to listen to. It was very clinical and I felt like I was analyzing or examining the music rather than feeling it and enjoying it. The Caliente, on the other hand, had almost all of the detail of the Ortofon with the added benefit of low end bass boost. I find the Caliente to be an enjoying listen and not fatiguing. I wish I could say the same about the Ortofon.
