Well I got my ah-d5000's today and so far I am pretty happy with them.  I think they will REALLY shine when I get a decent amp.  I only have the PA2V2 right now :frowning2:  I have posted a few posts about what amp to get and was leaning towards the Little Dot I+ but some say its not the best for these cans.  I am VERY interested in the Schiit Asgard but I recently have been looking at the
Matrix M-Stage.  Has anyone had experience with this amp and the 5000's?

I believe Frank I has some experience with the D7000 and the m-stage. It's posted in the main Matrix m-stage thread.

Wow I just got mine today also! They sound good out of my xonar essence ST and my D10 but I'm sure they could be better.

What do you listen to out of curiosity?

And Frank knows his stuff

. I think both of us would recommend a SS amp for the D7000s (and even D5000s) too.

See and a lot of people say the Denons are not good for rock. And thats all I listen to. Mostly post-rock but classic rock and prog-rock too. And they sound great with them. Just enough bass IMO. Lots of impact.

I do feel the Denons shine more with pop and hip-hop. They do fine with soft as well as classic rock, but falter when faced with grittier music. IMO, they lend those particular songs too smooth a quality.

Congrats on your new cans guys. I just got a pair of d2000's and am still trying to figure out a couple of things. lozanoa I see you have some 325's in your sig. How do you think your new Denon's compare. I'm sort of on a listening tour right now. Spent a few days with the SR225 and liked them. Then I exchanged them for the Denon's and I like these too.

Try EQing the Denon.  The D2000 and D7000 have a very similar FR graph.  If I had the D7000 I'd EQ them very similarly as I do my D2000 (see my sig for an example EQ curve).  The Denon does the gritty rock sound very well if you EQ.

Overall I like the Denon's more for their Bass and impact. Being an ex Drummer I like to feel the snare hits. But there are times when the 325's out shine them. I miss the forward mids mostly. But perhaps its just what I'm used to.
