Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread

You guys should check your emails. I got an email from their support saying that they hope to have everything sorted in the next few days and that I should let their sales team know if I was okay with receiving the aluminum version. I let them know that I was perfectly fine with the aluminum (I prefer the increased durability and the latest drivers) and my order changed from pending to completed - waiting to ship almost immediately. Hope this helps!

Any of you guys order around around the 26th-28th area? My order is around the 146XXX area so i'm not expecting no movement to happen this week.

I got a mail this morning saying that they would fix the issues they`ve had the following days, and that I could send a mail to customer service to let them know I`m ok with getting aluminium ones. If there isn`t enough units, they would offer me alternatives.

A few hours later I get a new mail where they say that their credit card processor can`t recieve payment from me (after 10! days?) , so they`ve cancelled the order. I think thats weird since I was on the phone with my own bank to make sure the money got transferred. This was on the 24th.
The only customer support I`ve gotten before today is the "we don`t know anything and don`t have any answers" type of mails, while they`ve had my money for 10 days, effectively keeping me from taking advantage of any other deals that week.
My order was 142xx.

Considering that people with order numbers between 138XXX-140XXX have just received their pair, we are probably in for a long wait.

Having chased, I was asked to confirm that I would accept an aluminium pair, and having thought about it, I said that I wasn't, so it looks like my LCD-2 adventure ends abruptly right here. Interestingly, within minutes of me emailing to that effect, my order had been deleted from my account page on the website, though I have had no response or confirmation from Audeze. I guess they're very busy...

Before I placed the order for this B-stock offer, I didn't even know there was an aluminium version of LCD-2. In my mind, I'd ordered a wooden headphone, and I was being offered something quite different. Not saying the aluminium version isn't a superb headphone in it's own right; it might well be, but it's just not what I signed up for.

I'm so surprised you care so much about the material around the earcup. It's the same exact headphone, just cups are wood or aluminum. I mean, your money and your call, but it just doesn't seem like a big deal to me. Plus, the aluminum are probably more durable than the wood. It's aesthetics only.

I agree... the deal was so amazing (50% off) I didn't have a preference on the material either way. They are the same amazing headphones with the same amazing sound... that is what matters most to me.

I very much agree with you here. Though, in the end... I settled for the Aluminum. I'm going to wait out the warranty period, and then most likely pull them apart and either get them Anodized or even use a 3rd party for the Wood. That is, if I'm enamoured with the sound signature enough to keep them.
