Cowon J3 does support AAC format ( with pic )

Thread Starter

I did try to play the songs in aac with my J3, and it works, very smooth... All the songs rip from itune (in AAC) can be played with my J3 with no problem so far... It's a big surprised to know that J3 can support AAC, as this is never mentioned in the official specification.  But, it can't show the album cover and kbps when playing with the AAC format....

Hmm, Cowons being sneaky, hehe...

When you say AAC and .m4a, does that include those bought from iTunes store?

Only the DRM free AAC is playable on a Cowon.

Sorry to bring up this thread again, but is the J3 able to support album art from an AAC file with the latest (2.25) firmware? I read in this forum that it doesn't and you need to include a "cover.jpg" file in order for the album art to be correctly displayed.
