there are many threads on burn in. u can use am static or just do what i do and play music thru them a little higher than usual listening level continuous for about a week.

the v6's took me much longer to break in than my other phones. i don't mean to discourage you but i beleive they will stay rather bright for you but they will tame down quite a bit with at least 100 hrs break in (200 is all you need). the bass improves but the midrange will remain recessed compared to the emphasised extremes.

they sound great out of portables and i use them with my ipod but mostly for nonvocal music. they have their flaws but i think you will enjoy them plenty.

they WILL improve with time...give them a couple days continuous.

"That's called sibilance, and the V6 are infamous for how much of it they have."

fun :|

yeah ill just keep em at a normal volume(is that good?) playin through my collection a couple times... it really shows with some of the female vocals like tegan and sara... makes it hard to listen

and i love tegan and sara :'( oh well, i guess i can wait a while. they are sitting there, unfortunately, i sleep in the same room as my comp... the are kinda loud and i assume they will only get louder when there is no other sound. can i listen to them while they are burning in? :-/ about what volume should it be at. half of the max on the comp? go from there if it is different.

yeah, many like to listen to them while burning in so that they can enjoy their new purchase and hear how things change and improve...some just like to leave it for a while and them listen to them critically when they are done burning in. thats up to you...theres no rule against it.

listening volume to a little higher i would say.
