Hello Head-fiers,

I'm finally purchasing my first headphones, and i've decided to go with the k701s or k702s after trying them out at the DXC store in California. A Heed CanAmp is on its way soon. However, I have a dilemma to choose between the two headphones, and I hope you guys can clear any of my concerns.

From what I have read in threads, many people have said that there are 2 versions of the k701 and that the lower the serial number for them, the better they sound (and possibly build quality). If I just order one new from amazon for 25x, then could I expect the sound/build quality to be as nice as the demos of the older version after burn-in?

Other than the color and the detachable cable, are there any improvements in the build quality for the the k702 based off the k701?

If you guys have these headphones (currently or previously), please do give some insight on the differences as i've only tried the k701s of the older version. Thanks for reading.
