Hey just discovered this thread. I'm NOR and just finished my MBA at curtain but as a mature age student.

I've got K701s and in the market for more gear including amps and dacs.. Would love to listen to some HD800's.

Add me to the list :)

Cravenz, Im free for the weekends 10th, 11th, 24th, 31st June and 1st, July. Of course depending on my house settlement date.

Put me down for bringing MS-1i and DBA-02, i will also bring along my Sony A818 if the LOD arrives between now and then.

noted. grats on the MBA by the way. I think everyone is keen on the 800s lol. Alright, I'm going to send PMs out while the list is still short and then will take it from there, I'd prefer if everyone posted here, but some have gone quiet, so I'll send PMs around and I'd hopefully like to get this sorted soon, unless we are looking to have it after the term starts, then we can take it easy :)

Cravenz, add a Meier Headsix to the list. Just purchased one to go with my A818. :) Hopefully have it burnt in with a 100+hrs before the meet.

will do :) I'm hoping that Matrix comes up with a nice DAC at some point, else I'm looking at the Audio-GD DAC19dsp, but the price range is outta my league at the moment.

I sold off my DAC19mk3 a little while ago... Even though i liked it. I probably wouldnt purchase another expensive dac. I was happy with my old Kingrex UD-01/PSU combo beforehand, the upgrade was very minimal to my ears.

dangit lol. some are saying there is a fair amount of difference between that and the DACMagic, some say it's minimal at best. Whatever the case is though, I'd like to get something to last me a while and affordable for a student. but pretty much it's more or less going to be used with my laptop. I'd like not to break the bank so I'm going to wait to see what Matrix comes up with. But thanks for the input :)

Whatever floats your boat really :) Try whatever you can i say! I smile more often with my MS-1's directly out of my A818 then any other highend headphone ive owned. Wait... I will say that i enjoyed my old pair of K601's a fair amount aswell.

I am really looking forward to trying a pair of MS-Pros out of my little rig. They could be on the future purchase list.

I have tried a few phones at headphonic... Thats a definite plus, but amps/dac's not so much. I am however looking forward to trying out a few portable amps if this does go ahead :)

I am trying to get a home rig for the 702s at home, portable I just stick to my D10 with IEMs :)

For all this time, I still haven't gone down to headphonic lol.

But yeah, the meet should go ahead, just a matter of fixing a date and stuff. I think if we can get a minimum of 6, it'll be fine and we can book a room. Any less, I reckon we should just use someone's place. Unless we meet after work hours and I use university grounds which is another possibility :)

on a side note, I'm considering between a mannequin head and a normal headphone stand, well...as a headphone stand...mmm...lol

I'm sort of interested if I can fit it in with work etc

cheers
