I have an LOD I no longer use...PM me I'll give it to you at 1/2 price...these forums have done a lot for me, like to give back when I can.

My .02 is that an lod does make a difference, I prefer the sound of silver ICs

3x for Fiio cable.Search on eBay for "fiio cable." Nobody can beat  the $ for a high quality LOD cable. It is longish at 6"? but you can loop it and nylon tie it. Much much more sq than it appears.

Hey,

The L1 truly is an unbeatable value.  The L3 does deserve a serious consideration though.  The PCOCC-A wire is really cool and the way they make the three group bundles per conductor, with the cotton rope, Teflon inner jacket, really makes for a more rugged cable. I use one with my first gen iPod Mini (mint green!) and iPhone 3GS.

Yeah, if I had it to do all over again, I would've gotten a cheaper Fiio LOD..  I spent $85 w/ shipping on the TWcu viablue from Whiplash...  Nice cable, but I likely wouldn't notice a difference by getting a much cheaper one..

Get a DIY'ed TWAg or TWCu LOD or mini-to-mini. Both your ears and your wallet will thank you for it.

I bought a DIY'ed TWCu LOD for just $49 and it sounds like copper, yet it also sounds nothing like copper in general (like silky highs and sweet mids).
And I personally feel that it can rival a crystal LOD in performance.

I might get bashed for this, but after A/Bing several well-known LOD combos like Mundorf Silver/Gold, SXC (silver plated copper), silver and copper, SCSCag and TWCu, my advice to you is get a pure-material LOD, they bring the best out of the music. Either silver, or copper. The others simply don't do much.

The only weird material I can say is good is Singularity's nano carbon. That has some crazy sound, and is still cheaper than most "crystal cables".

Unless you have money to explore new grounds, get a good DIY'ed LOD or mini-to-mini.

Just bought this about an hour ago.

I am very sceptical about interconnects but I bought this to save on cable length!
I have an Ibasso lod plus a cable to my amp but it`s too long, ok at home but.
Silver plated ohfc blah.

I am curious though whether the combination of copper (warm) silver plated (better high`s) makes any differernce in sound.
I doubt not but UK £20 ish for the space saving cable length is worth a shot.

Will be connected to my pa2v2 (which already boosts all bass, mids, treble without distortion) to a level you should really not listen too but I have discovered loud doesn`t mean distortion, tinitus? erm a bit.

Ok I have it, well constructed, perfect length and the wire is flat in a mesh, nice!

Firstly I am going to have to turn the gain down on my amp, things are loud, much louder than using my single lod plus another cable to the amp.
Bass is going to be turned down on my IE8`s also, much more bass, too much at the min.
Sound wise as I said, loud, bassy and a bit more veiled (warm?) Tool not handy to turn the bass down on my ie8`s, will edit when I do it.
The lack of clutter is the best part.

I hope you enjoy your LOD! Tell us what you hear as you play more music through it.

If you're keen to explore, you can go to Plexcio Acoustics too - they make pretty good bang-for-buck LODs.

Fiio has a LOD for less than $20.  I compared it to my TWcu LOD and the sound difference was very minimal.

Higher priced LODs you're paying for build quality and aesthetics more so than getting a big difference in sound.  Some say copper sounds warmer than silver wire.  I've heard a discernible difference when it comes to headphone or speaker cables but very little with the LOD.

I guess it's different strokes for different folks. With the use of a diyMod and the Voyager I could tell significant differences between TWCu, silverplated copper + copper and SCSCag without focusing on the A/B-ing.

I couldn't make out a difference from a Crystal LOD though. I guess there are limits to improvement.

Here is what it looks like, forgive me first ever pic posted.
Gain lowered to the min, bass on the phones set to minimum but not zero, up a fraction.
Will listen later with my normal setup, beer/smoke/chill.

I bought a LOD from the same seller over a year ago. It is identical to what iBasso call the CB05, but was half the price. If it is a fake (which I doubt,I  think it is made from the same products that iBasso use, which are easily available on ebay), it is a superb one which has a superb sound and still looks brand new after lots of use.
