I apologize if this was said elsewhere, I looked but didn't find it.

I am wondering if anyone has tried to put the ihp-120 into the ipod holster and whether it fits nice and snug? I believe you can buy these holsters seperately.

The iriver ihp-120 comes with a nice case but it doesn't have a clip, just a belt loop and quite frankly, I don't wear a belt all that often. It's nice for protection but lousy for clipping anywhere and just makes it bulkier if you need to carry it somewhere like in your pocket.

I think the folks designing this have to realize that it's not just the executive male belt wearing public who will use this player but those who don't wear belts or who want to clip the player to their briefcase or on the side of their slacks like a pager..

So you'd have to buy a second gen iPod case, then use it for parts, while putting a hole in your IHP case in the process right ? Why not just buy another case with the money you'd be spending on the iPod case (which I checked...is $40) Seems sorta silly, unless that clip and post are sold seperately for MUCH cheaper. Like $10 maybe ?

There have to be better solutions...better cases out there. I'm sure of it.

no need to get a 2nd gen iPod case - those belt clips and posts are a pretty common accessory for cell phones. I have one for an old nokia that looks exactly like what was used. browsing some cell phone accessories might turn up just the right thing for little $.

Sweet Spot, you are the most negative person I've seen post on this forum. Is there ever a time when you'd say "hey, that's a pretty good idea and I did some research on the net and you can find those clips and posts for about 5 bucks!" I happened to have had an old ipod case laying around that originally only cost me $9. So when I saw that guys mod I did it myself too and it works great. Personally I think that the case that came with the 120 is very nice and this just put frosting on the cake for me.

Why am I being negative ? If the proposed solution was to buy an iPod case and use its parts, I could see that as being one IF there were no other viable solutions...that is of course if someone was looking for one. The initial poster WAS looking for one. I mean it's great for you that you happened to have some old cases lying around, and yeah, that is very cool for you and whom ever has some. And yes, I understand that the clips can be bought at cell phone stores and other places.

If it's negativity you perceive, I can't help that. I was only showing a flip side to the scenario....Because I'm sure there are people who don't want to try and mod their original case. (for what ever reasons). I don't, becasue I would rather have the security of knowing that I bought something that was designed for exactly what I need... Even some of the clip cases aren't very good because the clips aren't secured very well, as they're sewn on in a very flimsy way.

I couldn't agree more Phatty, and he also talks about how good or bad a DAP is without actually using it long enough...

It's ok... I'm not trying to start a flame war. Sweet is entitled to his opinion like the rest of us and entitled to voice it anyway he see's fit. I do think however that perhaps his wording could be different. Anyway, did your 120 ship yet Sweet????? I saw your post about ordering one and how anxious you were to make sure it shipped.

Gosh Carlin, your argument is just so compelling. You have alot to learn about life if you think that everyone must conform to suit your views on things in general. What you neglect to understand, is that this world is full of diversity. If you don't respect the basic nature of man, which is the will to be an individual, you'll always be disappointed in what you see around you. You really shouldn't take such stock in what someone elses opinion is on something especially if you don't agree with it...At that point, it's up to you to either respect it or ignore it, otherwise you're just wasting your breath.

You can't or shouldn't try to change a persons perspective on life or certain aspects of it unless you can prove that your views are the basis for an entire societies way of life.

Aside from that, I may be very opinionated, (and you should also learn how to fully read a post before you go taking excerpts out of someone elses about what they think of my opinions) but all you're basically doing now is being a total troll with nothing intelligent to add to a dead issue.

Good day to you sir.

No need for that man. I'm very done with that issue. However, if I find any other solutions aside from the good link/suggestion that phatty gave, (

) I shall participate.
