Based on previously using ER4P, SF5p, UE11 and JH16:

1. Yes. ER4P definitely had a smaller soundstage than UE11 and JH16. Having said that, can't remember the size of the SF5p soundstage in comparison.
2. No. SF5p was worse than ER4p in detail/separation across the range, and UE11 and JH16 are equal or better.

Thank you so much for the to-the-point feedback.

Hey guys,

Looking to get my first Customs...
How much of an improvement to the music would be... If I got, say, a triple-driver custom IEM after my pl-50? Is the improvement HUGE and as mind blowing as they say ? Is there anyway you could describe the LEVEL of improvement besides "It's crispier, highs are brighter, etc"?

Also, is the Um3x good enough not to warrant the extra bucks of a tripple driver custom ? (Again, if the improvement in SQ and whatnot is THAT huge)

Thanks !

JiPod,

I'm no expert here, however, I think the possible cause of the muddiness is the more recessed 200Hz-1kHz compared to stock one. If you could use eq, try to play around and see what happens. Let us know.

Too much of it will also make the vocal sound weird (kind of like forced upon), and adding the lower end of 200Hz to around 500Hz can make the music too warm, thus making the sound muddy too.
