Silicone.

Last forever.
Hurt a touch
Bright.
Lack midbass.
Awesome isolation.
Fast and easy to fit, and refit.

Foam.

Sound better.
Wear out FAST (mainly the "springyness")
Far nicer bottom end.
Comfy.
No good where you have to insert and remove (the mall for example, or at work) as they take ages to expand enough to get good isolation.
Isolation not in the same league as silicone.

So - which is better. Hmm. now that is a difficult one - foam overall probably unless i am at work where i want the superior isolation.

BUT i like the conveninece of the silicone tips. just not the treble!

I agree though I'd put "hurt a touch" under both.

Have you tried inserting the Silicones backwards and bending each fold back, so the thick end goes in first? You may want to give it a try, especially for a quick in and out.
