Hi Everyone,

Out of the group of headphones below, which would be ideal for an electronic music artist and gamer?

I'm on my laptop ALOT so I'd need something comfortable since my crap pair of 30$ SENNHEISER are pressing steel against my ears causing me massive pain.

I would prefer a budget around 75$-ish so here's my list:

Quote:

SteelSeries
Siberia Full-size Headphones White
$59.99

Plantronics (mic included)
GameCom 777 Surround Sound Gaming Headset
$79.99

Sony Canada
MDRNC7B Foldable Noise Cancelling Headphones
$79.99

Sony Canada
MDRD333LWS Headphones with Retractable Cord and Ambient Sound-In Diaphragm
$79.99

Philips
Premium Full Size Active Noise Canceling Headphones with Travel Case
$96.99

Sony
MDRV500DJ Studio Monitor Series Headphones
$85.99

Thanks

Note: I selected these choices from the Dell website since I have a partial credit that I would like to use towards one of these.

this thread is relevant to my interests.

I bought the Siberia headphones last week, Thursday I think. I will be happy to listen to them if they are at all bearable.

PS:
the internet is not your personal shopper. do your own research, and stay a while.

Siberias are ultra comfy, but muddy. As a gaming headphone (which is what they are), they actually do better with music than with actual gaming. They have a very relaxed sound signature that I quite enjoyed. I wouldn't take them as serious headphones though.

That being said, the ones you're looking at are the V2 Siberias, which are supposedly better than the 1st gen, which I have. My opinions may be moot, as they might be quite a bit better than the older version I have (they share the same design, but have different pads, and the V2 has larger drivers.)

Sit down and stay a while!

As Nikon suggested, it's not quite as easy as giving us a list and then us telling you which one you should buy. Even with a brief description of what music you like and your uses, it's always hard to be sure that you'll enjoy the x-factor of one headphone or another's.

My recommendation is expand your options. Canada is a hard place to find good deals on headphones retail wise, so I'd recommend poking around different threads in this here forum and then swinging down to the For Sale forum and seeing if there's anything up your alley. You may be able to pick a headphone at random from that list and like it much better than your current gear, but we'd like to help you find something that you won't like, but will love.

I have the gamecom 777s and they aren't worth the money. My first pair broke under the warranty period, luckily for me. The strap that allows it to extend cracked just from normal use of me putting them on, though I do have a rather large head. Also not too comfortable, there's plastic under the fabric between you and the actual hardware that's always pressing on my ears. Also I find the usb dongle useless, though I guess you can't get the "5.1 dolby digital" without it. I'm seriously about ready to sell these and use my HA-RX700s and find a separate mic instead.

Edit: I guess that may be a bit harsh, they aren't that bad. At times though they are uncomfortable and you need to take a break from wearing them. Also I just don't feel they are worth the msrp of $100 when it seems my $35 HA-RX700s sound so much nicer, even in game. The gamecom 777s don't have much bass to speak of, and my HA-RX700s picked up on instruments in the game menu music I hadn't even known to exist. I'm not sure if they need an amp, or what, but I'm not getting that great of sound out of them.
