At the end i've decided to buy hd650, but i'm confused for the amp and dac.
My source is desktop/mp3 (lossless), i'd prefer a amp/dac combo, possibly no too expansive.
Sorry, I read old post, but i'm confused than before!!!!
Thanks in advance.

How much are you looking to spend? From what I've read on my own, I'm not sure, to do the 600's justice, you'll find a DAC/Amp in combo form. I'd look more towards a DAC and an amp. Two pieces. On a side note, I really hope you don't use MP3's with those 600's..

Is the difference between V0 MP3s and FLACs big enough to say that MP3s aren't good enough for the HD600s? I have FLACs ripped from vinyl for my favorite albums, but most of my 3500 songs are V0 MP3s because I can't tell the difference unless I compare the two files side by side, and FLACs would take up too much space on my iPhone and too much ratio on What.CD.

I suppose it's subjective and depending on the listener. Perhaps I shouldn't have said anything. Sorry if I seemed like a prick just then. Not sure if you knew or not, but Apple products can't read .flac files. .alac or .aiff's would be required. Just sayin'..

As an answer to your question, I'd say: earmax pro. I have never heard an amp that sounded like this one.
But the earmax has no dac in it. I have the Musical Fidelity X-Can that comes with a dac. But although the amp is a good one the dac is not. Musical Fidelitys v-dac is terrific and cheap. Combined with am amp thats not within your budget any more.

But - if you wait long enough, this thread will just become a collection of an arbitrary sample of amps and dacs that people happen to like.

The only solution that I can really recommend is, put your Senns and your favorite albums into your bag, find hifi dealers that let you listen to their amps, or (better) order amps from the internet with a return option. And listen.... It'll be fun too.

If you read the post and search a bit. Little Dot MKIII is 199 dollars. And the Nuforce uDac is 99 dollars. 300$ + 30-50 for delivery.
