The PX200 are *decent* sounding portable headphones. They accomplish what I need:

1) Portable
2) Non-Leaking
3) Over the ear
4) Average sound

As expected, my Koss KSC-35's *AND* KSC-50's smoke the Senn's when it comes to sound (and comfort, for that matter).

While the 35's give me oustanding results w/ my iPod, the KSC-50's are still above average sounding (to me); very happy w/ both pairs.

I wish Koss made a pair that sound at least as good as the 50's, are over the ear, and non-leaking. Is there a pair I'm missing? If not, I'll live w/ the Senn's.

Darn. Wish there was some way to switch the Senn drivers with my KSC-50 drivers. Sad to hear that my KSC-50's, which are 10 bucks less, smoke those.

Nevertheless, I need a portable phone.

personally i like sound of px100 better then both ksc-35 and ksc-50s, not sure about px200 tho

and just to make my point, ksc-50 do not have *above average* sound, maybe when compared to sony streetstyles, but there are lots that are better

Yeah, there's better, I'm sure; to me, these give above average sound w/ my iPod. I like them.

Yes, they pale in comparison to the KSC-35's, but they're still good and I will continue to use them for my workouts.

how long have you had your px200's? are they fully burnt in? If there is any doubt, run them in hard for at least another 24 hours with very loud bass heavy music. I thought I had burnt mine in and nearly returned them but then tried burning them in for another afternoon with VERY LOUD bass heavy music and the differences were night and day. I can't say for sure that they'll beat out your Koss stuff, but at least be sure to give them a fair shake.

-EDIT-

Something else to think about... with few exceptions, open sounds better then closed because of the soundstage... might just be the price you pay for closed...

Excellent points!

1) No, they're not burned in, so I'm sure they'll improve (without sounding as good as the Koss phones, undoubtedly)

2) The fact that closed headphones don't sound as good as open (to most people--because of the soundstage) is exactly what I have been thinking about, and exactly why I didn't expect them to sound better than the Koss phones...

...I just wanted acceptable sound in portable, non-leaking, over-the ear headphones, and that's what I got....I predict that they will end up being my on-the-go headphones for a long time

If you appreciate neutrality enough, px200 will end up smoking the ksc-35 after sufficient burn-in. The sound changes drastically after about 30 hours of good burn-in time: bass and treble gets clearer, and the whole "veiled" feel is almost totally taken away. ksc-35 is still better in terms of treble detail and soundstage, but px200 bass goes lower and is more balanced; mids on the px200 are better by a long shot.

I just got my PX-200s today and I'm loving it! Quick question about burn-in though (sorry, not trying to hi-jack the thread or anything but thought someone could just throw out a quick answer): How loud should the volume be for burning in? Should it be almost deafeningly loud? Or maybe just a little bit above my normal listening volume? Or simply leave it at normal volume? Also, someone mentioned to use some bass-heavy music. Would it be ok to just leave one bassy song on repeat?

i guess you can choose some bassy album and run the album on repeat. please dont turn the volume on so loud that it would distort the sound coming out the headphone, you will dammage the driver. just turn it on a moderate amount louder than what you normally listen to. after 20hours the headphone should start showing its potential.
