Hi guys,im using Cowon S9 + Westone 3...do i need an amp portable to improve SQ? I never use amp b4...so im really curious with amp? lol

AMPs works better if the DAPs have line out function and S9 don't have line out. So it will help to improve little only because HP jack and it may not be very usefull. If you really want to use AMPs for the ultimate soundquality then buy different DAPs with line out like ipod, sony X series walkmen, Sflo2, AMP3 Pro, D2+ ect. BTW iBasso D4, RSA Mustang P51, Pico, XM5 and RSA Predator are good match for W3.

ummmm I'm 99% sure the D2+ doesn't have a line out. If it does I'll replace my D2 in a heartbeat

I'm really enjoying the Headstage Arrow 12HE with my W3's. It helps bring the mid's more forward, widens the soundstage, and makes the overall sound a bit more coherent without losing the great energy/punch the W3's have.
