Can anybody comment on the M-Audio Fast Track's (v1 or v2) use as a quality headphone amplifier? Can it be used to listen to music from a computer without inherent interference from its own mic and guitar inputs and in stereo? Does the volume go loud with have headroom to spare? I'd like it to replace the internal sound card of the computer which seems to suffer EMI connected to an integrated amplifier.

Thanks

I've been using the M-audio fast track v2 for a few years with Akg k240 df's, sextett's and monitors along with VLC player. With the proper settings I think anyone can achieve a good level of sound quality.

In VLC sound settings set amplification to 120-150% and volume in sound settings to full. Set the headphone volume on your m audio fast track to full. Make sure the mic and guitar gain knobs are at zero. Control the volume from VLC player.
