OK. I have found solution to our DBT debate.

Just put a bunch of audiophiles kiddo that are unbiased, have no clue about cost of equipment and ask them what they think.

Why ask a 40+ years old to do DBT????

From now on, any review would not be complete/acceptable without a <10 years old final note.

a little update:
i just got an ath-w1000 headphone. i told my kids these are off limits, put them on the headphone stand next to my pc and also put out other headphones for everyone to use. I come home from work to find my younger daughter using my w1000, and the other headphones set aside! i handed her an m50 very quickly and said 'these are for you'

Young audiophile in training. Cute. ^^ I don't know if I should be worried/angry or happy if I was in your place, ofc I know what disasters kids in that age can achieve but at the same time I'd be happy if they appriciated the sound of the highend gear. You can probably affect their taste quite a bit in that age, if you let them listen to M50 they might grow into bassheads while letting them use Grado's might turn them into trebleheads etc. :p
