Just a quick question about koss' warranty. I'm thinking about buying a pair of portapros, though they are completely unaffordable in Canada, so I'm gonna buy them used for a much lower price. The problem is the seller doesn't
have proof if purchase, but he hasn't applied yet for the warranty either. So my question is, has any one needed to send in their receipt of any kind of P.O.P for getting their headphones repaired? Can I just make up the info on the applications? Thanks.

From my experience, you don't need proof of purchase... Plus, on their site, there's written that they have a "No-Questions-Asked Lifetime Warranty". Look here:

Koss Extended Warranty and Repair Center :: KOSS

I really can't say anything bad about their customer service...

Sent my KSC75 and KTX Pro1 w/5€ for shipping, and received them 2 days later...

You really can't go wrong w/ a Koss...

I'm happy to hear this. Came home for the holidays and while cleaning the basement found a few pairs of old Koss that were broken. Mailed them in with two pairs of PortaPros (separate topic but the cord and plug plastic seems brittle and easily breakable on these) and am hoping for a good outcome as well.

BIG thumbs up for Koss' Lifetime Warranty. I got my PortaPros about 2 years ago from Amazon. With all my headphones the wire at the plug eventually goes kaput. Normally I'd throw them out and buy another pair, but I sent them back to Koss.

Hey presto, a week later I got new Portas mailed out to me (with a new, curved plug this time). I'm quite amazed and impressed. Not to mention that I bloody love these headphones. (Previously I had Sennheiser PX100s and many, many others of varying quality, as I am a Walkman veteran and half-deaf to prove it).

I sat on the wire the other night and pulled it clean out the right earpiece, would it be worth my while using the warranty? :) The left side still works, obviously.

Ordered myself the "red hot" version from ebay right after I broke them as a replacement, then after a while thought, hmm, maybe I could send the old ones back? (The new ones are £16.99 delivered..though seeing this made me a bit nervous: http://www.pandawill.com/koss-portapro-headphones-red_p38446.html  ..check out the comments).

Doubt mine will be fakes, though, they're from a UK power seller.

Currently using them with a Desire HD (I use my mobile phone as an mp3 player!) and PowerAMP, for anyone interested :)
