ummm.... try a different pair of ety's before you judge their sound quality (or business practices for that matter.) I've tried both the stock zune earbuds, and the zune premium earbuds, and you're way off. THERE'S NO WAY IN HELL that they have more clarity than ANYTHING w/ etymotic on the box. You're definitely not hearing the etys properly (either due to bad seal, defective pair, source, etc...) when the zune earbuds sound clearer (either that or you dont know what good sq consists of...)
Sorry, I didn't mean to offend anyone. Also, I'm using the v2 Zunes, NOT the older model.
I'm just very disappointed, after spending so much I would expect a quality product and was let down. Sure, they cancel out noise, but that's about it.
try getting a replacement pair, sounds like you might have a defective pair.
I've never tried either IEM in question-- but from all the headphones I've listened to(portables, IEMs, earbuds, most of them being pretty cheap) I've never heard anything fuzzy sounding.
Ety's are known for their detail and clarity
either you are doing something wrong, or you have a defective pair.
