How to reduce microphonic? (ie8) | Headphone Reviews and Discussion - Head-Fi.org

I have a sennheiser ie8 and I like to walk around with it but when I do, the cable creates a microphonic and sometimes is very annoying. Is there a way of reducing or even getting rid of it?

What I do is, I put the Y-piece (where the cable splits) in my collar backside.
For me it completely cures microphonics, even though I do not wear the IE8s over the ears but simply straight down. Does not look silly.
An added advantage is that when taking them out the dangle on the front of your shoulders like J-corded phones. Only disadvantage is you loose some cable length.

I just wear them over my ears and have never had a problem.
