At the moment I have both the Asus Xonar STX and Musiland Monitor 02.

I could write a review of sorts comparing the two but instead I wanted to know what are your impressions and perhaps later I could share mine. I say that because my Musland 02 arrived today and I want to give it sometime.

let's see...the trebles are less harsh and agressive on the Musiland?

The headphone amp of Musiland 02 completely outclasses the Xonar headphone amp--even in fast mode. with precision mode there is no comparison at all.

Headphone HD580 (Hd600 grills HD650 cable).

driver 1.0.8.2

win7 64bit.

I completely agree with the first post in that thread. But I even go further because with 1.0.8.2 drivers the sound improvement, especially with precision mode is even more in terms of detail, imaging and depth.

I guess I got a new firmware updated version, because i installed the 1.0.8.2 drivers right away and they work without any problem.

I don't know about the bitmatch and bit-perfect, others can explain that.

wow, it's great that we have some real audio specialists around here

FYI, you can oversample up to 192kHz in Reclock, it's very cool for movies...because Reclock is forced to resample audio anyway to match the video refresh rate...at least you've learned something new today, lucky you

ah well, the drivers seem to be in Chinese, and updating the firmware looks painful...and what's up w/ the different audio quality levels?

What you think you're an audio 'specialist'? Dan Lavry himself has said it that the optimal frequency is 88khz and 96khz is the closest to get to it in most devices. So keep quoting articles you find around the web and using them as your own opinion. You've already proven yourself to be a joke around here.

The plot thickens...

i read xbitlab review of xts and they mentioned connecting the headphone out to an amp and i did.

the change is significant, for the better... i'll give it sometime just to make sure its not placebo...

Well, i had forgotten to remove an equalizer preset from foobar and combine that with slight plecebo, i thought the sound had improved using the headphone out connected to an amplifier, anyway...

For me Musiland 02 won convincingly and now I'm thinking of selling the STX... I will only keep the stx if there was promise of a firmware or driver update which will bring its full potential (if it has any) to the front, otherwise its not worth it.
