I'm getting some Grado 225s to supplement my 125s soon.

I'd like an inexpensive amp in the $200 to $300 range that is small enough to be portable and ideally decent enough for use at home.

Any suggestions?

Primarily will use on recording location and on plane for business travel.

Thanks.

wow you're using grados for recording? they would seem too forward, I guess you have just gotten used to it or your recordings/mixes would come out really dry in the midrange

as far as amps in that range I would recommend the ibasso P3+ with an opamp upgrade. some BUF643 and AD797, OPA211 or OPA827 would work nicely

Thanks. They are not forward at all. We also use Senns and AKG but the Grados get the string section right which is important since we do small ensemble classical.
