I'm thrilled that so many people made it to my place on a very cold winter day. We drank, we listened, we ate. I had a great time and am glad to hear you all did too!

We'll do it again

Thanks again Pat. You put on a great meet with delicious food and friendly people. I'm glad I came in spite of the after meet "fun" on the way home!
Now that we have an official start to the impressions thread, I'll move the pictures over here and post some more.

Prickley Peete's incredible "power plant" set-up with Audio-Gd's matching (but modded of course) balanced components. Decidedly some of the best sound I (or I think anyone there) has heard. Thanks for towing all that gear for us to share the experience.

Here's a shot of what I use at home. I was going to bring the Pio-58AV but considering the return trip, I'm glad I just brought the Headstage Arrow. Most who heard it said they were very impressed with it's sound, driving everything from HD650s to JH13 custom IEMs with ease due to it's many adjustable settings. I'm still taken aback by the sound I get from this little guy and am now forced to buy a portable player to go with the gift from Paul at Fulcrum. (twist my arm)

Arrow + Nano = true portability without sacrificing SQ or draining the wallet..I can't believe I'm buying a nano, but properly amped it really has a sound I can be happy with (at least for now)

The two will tide me over nicely until I can afford a new full sized desktop. The Audio-GD fun seemed like a worthy contender as it's another exceptionally adjustable, great sounding unit that doesn't break the bank.

Thanks again Punkaroo for having us over for an awesome meet!! (my first)
Met some great people, learned a lot of new things, listened to a lot of things, and overall had a great time!

I even got to have some extended comparisons with my HD580s, and other members HD600, HD650, with some different cables (cardas, enigma, stock), using the Darkvoice 337.
I think I preferred the HD580 (or HD600, which sounded the same) to the HD650. But I didn't have my music to compare (only used a few CDs). I believe cardas cable also gave a different (and better) presentation, but maybe some extended listening sessions and blind tests would give the real result.

Still think I'll have to try out the HD650 with my WA6.

Can't wait for the next meet!

Interesting you found the HD580 and HD600 sound the same. What I am reading tell me HD600 are refined version of the HD580.

So it's not so different finally ?

Identical drivers with more attention to matching driver pairs & better construction materials overall. With the 600 cups and a custom cable there can often be little difference. There is just a guarantee of better driver matching with the 600s.

Newcastle lad here, big thanks to Pat for hosting the lovely evening, Paul for the goodies (one of my buddies was chatting with you through your chat tonight!), and everyone else for lugging out their wicked gear, and sharing the passion with newcomers like myself!

See ya'll real soon, and pending a successful move, I'd love to host a meet at the new place come summer!

Thanks for making my day with so many pictures of people wearing Floats. As a Float owner myself, I must say that you all still look hilarious with them on.

+1

I just kept on smiling while scrolling down. If I were there I'd be so eager to hear them but at the same time, any pictures taken will come back to haunt me lol.
