Is Earphone Solutions biased towards Westone earphones?

Why Westone earphones are rated highest on almost every rank?

From Wikipedia: "Bias is a term used to describe a tendency or preference towards a particular perspective, ideology or result, when the tendency interferes with the ability to be impartial, unprejudiced, or objective.[1]. In other words, bias is generally seen as a 'one-sided' perspective. Having a bias is part of a normal development."

We understand that for some visitors of Earphone Solutions, our rankings may sound biased towards Westone, however to give a simple explanation, we do test all the models we sell (and a bunch of other models that got Xed - we receive a ton of unsolicited samples from various manufacturers) and we do prefer the Westone earphones for most music style, activities, noise isolation, overall sound quality, durability, comfort, fit, cable design, and Westone customer support which is an extension of our service.

It's hard to choose some other brand just to look unbiased. We will stay true to our preference. It's our honest opinion. Almost every customer I speak with on the phone that have owned more than one brand, including Westone, prefers Westone as well.

Some models we tested sounded great out of the box only to fail within 2 weeks. It happens. So we always try a second and sometimes a third set. If we see a pattern of premature failure, we have no choice but to downgrade the earphones.

This is not rocket science. It's our simple, honest opinion. If / when, something else comes along, with better sound quality, better warranty, better cable design, better customer support, better comfort, better fit, better durability, better value, we will be the first ones to point them out. Until then, Westone is indeed our favorite earphones among all the models we tested for almost all situations. More...

Stores that give honest opinions are the best. You get a much better sense of what the product you are getting is, and how it compares to the competition.

A lot of stores have summaries of headphones that read like advertisements and give no real impression of the sound, capabilities or durability of the product. I find it extremely difficult to shop from these stores, and I generally don't.

My favourite local store is my favourite because the guy who runs it gives honest opinions (most of which I agree with) and gives fantastic customer service (I've walked in, demo'd gear for hours with no problems - sometimes I didn't even buy anything).

He has been called biased more times than you can shake a stick at by various fanboys of a certian brand because he generally recommends products that he feels are better value for money or sound better.

Customer service and honest opinions are the most important things in running a business in something so subjective in my opinion. Your motto is "We will help you choose", and by doing what you do, I honestly think you are helping people choose more than a lot of other stores who seem to care more about the bottom line than satisfied customers.

I think you are biased, because they provide a product that excels in what you expect from an earphone. There is nothing wrong with that. There are sites that are biased towards shure, Ultimate Ears ect... because people buy earphones, and the people who sell earphones are people too. To expect you to be completely nuetral is too much, but the important thing is you are honest.

Hopefully your post succeeded in its purpose.
