After about 1 year of abstaining from bass, had gone thru pfes and ad700s, found a song yesterday that made me value my ex51s again (yeah, I was surprised too).

kind of a fun indie rock/pop song. didn't listen to much indie stuff before but I'm sure going to now.

for about 8 months I have been happy with the bass on the ad700s for all music, but they just didn't cut it for this song. then, I put on the ex51s and basked in all the boomy goodness, mids and highs be d_ed. (I don't have any other bass monsters lying around) was wondering if any of you other head-fiers have had a similar experience.

to think a few weeks ago I almost purchased some er4ses. am I having an audiophile identity crisis?

Haha I had a similar problem when I was listening to my RE0 and bought the CKS70's. Compared to the RE0's refinement the 70 is positively brutal in terms of bass. That conflict led me to look for a (cheap) middle ground between the two... and the CK90 Pro. You may like them

think the ck90pro is a little too expensive for me. i'd rather spend that kind of money on the ck10s. (theyre about the same in the us)
if my sound preferences were split into dr. jekyll and mr. hyde, I think hyde would get a smaller budget than jekyll.
