It's a bit too late now, but you could have just bought them from the PROAUDIOMART guy (brianf) who is a Authorized Audio Technica dealer in order to ease your concerns.

Even though his BuyItNow price is $104.95 he also has allows BestOffer and states on his listing he will match or beat any competitor's price. That said, while this could obviously change, he has been accepting offers in the $90 vicinity, considering that is the lowest price they have been going for new on Ebay in the recent past (as can be seen from completed listings).

Unless you are under time constraints (since you have to wait up to 48 hours for the seller to accept, reject your offer, or give a counter-offer) or limited stock is available, it's always worth giving BestOffer a shot when available before going for BuyItNow on Ebay.

Well that's good to know.

But I did go to PROAUDIOMART and searched for them there before anywhere else actually, and I couldn't navigate the site really well...couldn't search anything and went to the "headphones section" but there wasn't much in there and no Audio Technicas. I would have tried to figure it out or waited longer if I knew about the whole match price deal, that's pretty awesome.

The headphones are in Knoxville TN, so they are a day away, I'll probably make a new thread when I get them and start testing them out (even though there is a pretty extensive and fairly detailed one about the already). I'm feeling pretty confident everything is fine now.

Scratch the comment about not be able to find anything from brianf...I went to ebay and found his stuff. I saw it before and I have no clue as to why I didn't buy from that one...he even had the option to get straight or coiled cable, I think on these I'm getting straight. Well now I know though I can get good prices from him and I'll be sure to go through him on another audio equipment buy later.
