how does the sound compare with Sansa Fuze/Clip?

I too want to know if it is better than the Fuze. I'll buy it if it is. But I don't want to tie up any more money just to find out to sell later.

Can anyone testify if the Sony S639 is an SQ upgrade?

Well, they are already out of stock. Would have been the deal of the year.

No. That was only a $20 discount?

TF10 for $99?

My bad. I thought they were still listed at 159.99. That woul dhave been a great deal. But if they had already been reduced in price to 84, well then that was no big deal. Got the job done though. Cleared the inventory out.

I've owned the Fuze, I have a clip & an S639. The S639 (IMO - it's subjective) is better sounding than the 2 Sansa daps. The killer is the fantastic EQ and sound effects. On a flat EQ they all are quite close, but the S639 gets a slight edge then - slight.

PS: I just managed to order 1 of these for my little sis-in-law to replace a bricked Samsung Q2, so this sale couldn't have had better timing. I'd suggest keeping an eye on the Sony Style site as well, as it's quite worth the wait - I sold my S9 and kept this for the superior SQ (again, IMO).

nywytboy68 You sold a cowon S9 because this was so good to you? Uh, wow.
I haven't played with sound effects and EQ. I'm concerned I'll stop listening to music and start playing with music. It's bad enough trying to get THE sound from headphone you want and then to start tweaking tracks ad infinitum. I think I will get them if they stock and price it the same. Not like there isn't a market to buy them from me if I keep my simple great sounding Fuze.

Yes SQ is always an opinion.

I'm note really sure how does this thing compare to nwz-828.But my fuze sounded definitly better than a828.I thought s9 sounds better than both fuze and a828.So the order is like this?( atleast for me).

s639=s9?>fuze>nwz828.

I will try this out.
