My SR60s have been making strange rattling sounds when I hit low bass or very high treble

Is there anything I can do to fix this?

What's your source?

Sound like you've got some grattle (Grado-rattle) going on (when a hair gets inside and rattles against the driver).

If you search for "grattle" on Head-Fi you can find various cures, but I've found applying a very light suction to the the inside opening to the driver will take it away temporarily. Sometimes for weeks even. It's a little awkward to do this in public though... people start to think you love headphones a wee bit too much.

Good luck!

If that's not it, your amp could be clipping.

How would you solve the problem if the amp is causing the clipping? FWIR, replay gain could help reduce it.

Either turn down the volume or use a more powerful amp.

OP: Happy listening!
