I've had my AE-2 for about 18 months. I use it with a Sansa E series and several different phones, Senn PX100, iGrado, ATH-ES7 and QC3 when flying. The AE-2 drives them all well, is built like a rock and has great battery life. I have no need to ever consider replacing it.

Thanks for the input FatCat, but I was talking more about sound quality.

There aren't many AE-2 owners around, the AE-2 was never the FOTM like the Pico or Hornet. My only other "real" portable was a C&C Box V2, which the AE-2 replaced.
The phones I use most often with the amp are the iGrados. What phones would you use with the amp?

I have read, not heard, that the AE-2 sounds similar to the pico, but the pico sounds overall better and is smaller. Maybe try the Pico without the amp, or wait for the slim which will have a pre order price of 350?

I have ER4s, TF10 Pro, UM3x and Phonak PFE.

I also no longer have a wallet

I should also mention that I like a "flatter response" sound sig. An even presentation across the board, as is evident by my IEM selection.
