Best amp for HD580's

Hello, I am looking for an over all good portable amp to drive any of these...I have a pair HD580's that I've had for about 8 years, and i am looking for an amp for them. I also have some Shure IEM's and PK2's, and nearly 20 year old MDR V6's. I am going to order the HD600 cables for the 580's. Source is iPod Touch 2nd Gen and 15gigJukebox with Rockbox firmware.

Hello again,

So I read in some of the forums that the Senn's are a high resistance headphone of 300 and that a Low resistance amp might have a better control of the diaphrams, and yet the high gain of the amp might be better suited, but there was no clear set determination as to which would be best for them.

So, I am hopefull that somebody here might be able to shed more light. Will the Tomahawk work for these?

You might try either the Minibox-E+ or the V1 from Vivid Technologies. I used to drive my HD600 (which is the same as the HD580 under the hood) with the E+ and got acceptable results
