The S series doesn't have an S-master amp, however. It is a shame, but the current crop of S-master is limited to the top A 840 series and X models only.

You seem to agree with one of my comments and disagree with others can you clarify with which comment you agree?

Sony's and Senn's frequency responses are within 6 db and also verified by other labs. IEMs go faster but when in the canal suffer sharp role-off something that I never understood in the past and did not pay any attention to it as I had not noticed any difference.

However I recently became aware of it and I could not believe it when I was experimenting with my A818 and S739 IEMs and my SA-5000 and Westone 3. The 818 was better when wearing IEMs and worst when wearing the SA-5000. I was eperimenting with A818 and S739 because their difference was kind of like the difference between the X and new A series and I wanted to make up my mind as to which of the two I should upgrade to.

The S series is said to have an S master amp in Sony docs. However I am also not sure whether this is true and not a mistake given that the S may have been misinterpreted. Do you know something more on this?

Here is Ayumi's lab test of the A847. You can see the frequency response graphs with load after the middle of the document is very promising as opposed to shigzeo's rmaa unloaded tests.
33ohm phones will have the best curve.

Going to Japan to buy it next month =)

According to the graph(assuming are looking at the same graph), 150 ohm has flatter response, but oddly as the impedance tends to infinity, the response becomes flatter.  so how is 33ohm have the best curve?

it is nearer to the 0 dB line with a flatter curve compared to 15ohm lols... infinity is too far away from 0 dB line.

But I would agree flatter curve is 150 and infinity. maybe just lower the volume... cos the curve is about 2 dB away from the 0dB line :)

Oh, so the power transfer is maximum at close to 0dB line?  I thought dB was power out per power in or gain?   It looks to me that 15ohm is closest to 0dB line.  On average is the 33ohm closer?

A845 is the same 847 but with less memory =) And i have pictures (can make more )

the "so called" best is a flat response. 15ohm has a significant drop at the bass whereas the rest of the load have flatter and flatter response. I dont know why but haha the test shows so i am going to go with it.

Ok I have tested the player in one of the branches in singapore of the NWZ-A846. There is no clicking noises, only hissing and the hiss is much lesser than my A808 player. I am using my JH13pro to test from the hp out by the way. :)

NWZ-A847 DELIVERY IN THE UK IMMINENT

Hi

I enquired about the Sony NWZ-A847 at my local Sony Centre last Saturday 7th May 2011, the NWZ-A847 64gb was on display I was able to listen to the MP3 player & the sound qaulity was fantastic, I wanted to buy it there & then sony could not sell it to me there & then because it had not been officially launched in the UK but the launch date was very close as demo models where already in the sony stores. Returning home I checked on the internet & found that advanced mp3 players where projecting the launch date for Tuesday 24th May 2011 for about £280.00 & are taking orders in advance I have already ordered mine
hope this helps

If this is the 32gb & 64gb models available now, then this was a waste of a read. And also - DAMN THAT EU VOLUME CRAP!!!
