Hi!

I'm looking for some sub $150 IEMs to use exclusively with my iaudio 7. The idea is to use the setup in public transports so I am interested in something with good sound isolation and a decent sound quality. I usually listen to acoustic music and alternative rock and I'm not sure what kind of technical sound characteristics I should be looking for. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

There are tons of options available, more than I can even name since I probably will forget some. There's the RE0, FX500, ATHCK10, SF 5pro, Phonak, S4, C751, and more lol. I can't name anymore off the top of my atm, I'm already exhausted.

Thanks guys.

I was hoping to narrow down my options to 2 or 3 IEMs, based on the info I gave, but I guess it's more complicated that what I anticipated. Or maybe I'm overthinking and I should just go with the one that looks better

What type of sound signature do you like? More warm sounding with more bass or more crisp and detailed sounding? How much do you care about isolation?

OK, in your price range for crisp and detailed, I would highly recommend HF5, ER4P, and RE0. It will be prime for classical and the acoustic stuff that you listen to.

For rock, you may want more bass, so you will kind of need to find a balance somewhere in between. The S4 are pretty good for $80, but they are dynamic drivers so they sound warmer and have slightly brighter/harsher highs. The IE6, or even better the IE7, may actually be good for your as well if you can grab them in your price range.

I personally enjoy the dynamic driver sound more, the crispness of the ER4P often fatigued me very easily. But we all have different ears.
