IM616 in the Philippines for 15$ *UPDATE And the im716 as well!

A lot of people have been private-messaging me about buying headphones for them, both here in the Philippines and abroad. Like I said earlier, I'm afraid I plan on keeping my purchases (except for one that a friend asked me to buy for him). I know this is an amazing find, and I doubt such a deal as this will come again.

I'd suggest visiting the other branches of Ambassador. As of this afternoon, I'm sure Greenhills is sold out, but I haven't tried the other branches. So go to Park Square, Binondo, and Edsa Shangri-la Mall.

Happy hunting! And let me know if anyone finds one or two or eight.

Actually, I didn't. I COULD have gone to every branch and picked up every headphone, to sell for profit both here and abroad, but I didn't. I got enough units for me and a friend, then let all of you get the rest.

I COULD have just shut my mouth about where I got them and how much, then sold them discretely for buckets of cash. And I did not.

Run to Ambassador and pick up a pair. You could have read my messages at the same time as anyone else. I didn't PM anyone ahead of time or anything. The first time I disclosed the location was right here in public.

Before you complain about my SELFISH behavior, maybe you should look first.

Hmm, most likely no one yet even bothers buying a pair, seeing it's a surplus product. Anyways, how would the compare to, let's say, another IEM like the Klipsch Image S4 or UE Super-Fi's? if they sound comparable or better than them, I'll scramble to the nearest store right away.

It's 700 pesos. 15 DOLLARS.

JVC Marshmallows cost the same here in the Philippines at Western Appliances. Koss Portapros cost over 50$ at 5th avenue.

$15? You'd better believe they're worth it.

I would have thought people would have started running as soon as I posted the location yesterday. I predict that within this week at the latest, there'll be no stock left.

Actually, I'll look for more on the weekend. I've gotten some very tasty offers through private messages already. If there are any left by my next free day, I may as well snap them up.

OK, so any pinoy headfiers try the Binondo branch of Ambassador Appliances? I'm heading to Quiapo this weekend, so I might as well see if any more im616 or (fingers crossed) im716's remain.

Just checking if anyone has cleared them out yet, and save me the trip.

Also, I'm actually not sure where the branch is. I just know the salesman in Greenhills where I bought my pairs said they had a branch there. Anyone know?

I dug up this old review (2005) from PC Mag. The key to these is knowing how to use them, which tips, etc. And they are not bass monsters, of course. But I had sort of forgotten the Ety sound, until yesterday, when arrived.

The real irony is that replacement filters (the red ones from Ety) cost more ($15) than the phones ($13.99). Oh, and check out the MSRP in the PC Mag review ($149.95)!
