Hi, I absolutley need lots of isolation beacause I travel by train but I also want sound quality.
Which one would you suggest between soundmagic pl30 and shure se115?

I would prefer a dynamic driver.

Wondering If I can hear a hiss with my cowon D2, since the impedance is really low.

Not really a fair fight IMO, but I'd still pick the sound of the PL30s. The Shures definitely isolate far more, though. I think PL21 vs Se115 would be more fair.

And between these which one would you prefer? How is the SQ of se115? I own a pair of sennheiser ie6.
Why not fair?

Not fair because the MSRP of the SE115 is about 4x that of the PL30s.

I'd pick the PL21s over the Se115 for sound quality. From what I remember of them, the SE115 still isolate more, but the PL21 have nothing to be ashamed of there. Certainly much more isolating than the PL30s. Sound-wise, I'm really liking the PL21 right now. They have this rich fullness of sound thats so rare for budget IEMs.

Lack of headstage is one of the big problems I had with the SE115 originally, but neither the PL21 nor the SE115 as spacious-sounding as the PL30. My impressions of the SE115 are quite old (as I returned them), so take them at face value.

Or maybe it's better se115 vs pl50?

PL50 is not dynamic-driver. It also doesn't isolate that much. If you're open to other options, take a look at the Maximo Im-590s, which isolate a pretty good amount (on par with the Shures) and sound much better. If you're open to more isolating armature phones, I will suggest the Apple Dual-Drivers (addiems), refurbs of which are currently available on ebay for $35-40 or even the Etymotic Er-6i (if you're not a basshead).

Choice of tips is important too. Foamies, like Comply, tend to isolate more than silicon.

Of my stable, the Ety and q-Jays, with comply tips, tend isolate the most. In a quiet environment, with no music playing, I can hear someone talk if they raise their voice a bit.
