So, my SF3s have developed a crack I only recently noticed, as detailed in the following photos.

The problem is worsened whenever I try to improve the fit of my earphone while it's in my ear by twisting it. Sometimes I grab only the bottom half, and it twists. I fear that the crack may complete and the lower half of the casing will come free.

So, in a situation like this, a man must decide between what is right, and what is awesome. Since duct tape, WD40, pliers, or hammers won't work, I'm turning to super glue.

What do you think is the best method of applying super glue to the casing so that it is
  • Sealed
  • Not having gobs of dried glue sticking out
  • A clean job

Also, if anybody knows if there's BBCode to limit an image to the standard width of a post, please tell me.

[size=xx-small](Hey, those macro shots don't look half bad. And I was using a point and shoot with no tripod. Also, I wonder if this would belong in DIY.)[/size]

you haven't tried logitech customer service? that would be the wisest path to follow, as i think superglue would void the warranty.

if that's bust, then i'd carefully use some low viscosity super glue. you don't want it dripping in, right?

I'm not paying for a new driver (which would probably cost too much after shipping), and I'm sure Logitech won't be replacing an out of warranty housing that isn't a defect.

Also, you got that mixed up. Low viscosity = High flow.

I used superglue on the inside when repairing a similar fault with my triple fi pros. The glue on the inside meant it looked nice and tidy, and I haven't noticed a difference in SQ. Although I think you are kinda doomed, as yours has actually cracked. Mine just separated between the two parts of the housing.

And because you've modified it... was gonna suggest you claim it under household insurance. I did that when I ran over my old triple fis with my computer chair lol. Unless you restore its original housing?

Uh. Good luck!
