Well a used one complete with a set of Lambdas will cost you circa £250 so worth a try and see what you think. It won't sound like a tube amp but you might be surprised.

With the SQ I'm getting from my BHSE, I don't believe any available Stax amp will get close to that, and although I've never heard the KGSSHV, I also don't think that amp will sound as good as the BHSE, but it should sound closer than the Stax amps. Because of that I'd sooner wait until I've the money for a KGSSHV.

As well as the 009's, I also have the LCD-XC's, HD-600's, UM Miracles, and Shure se535's, so I'm not looking for anymore phones.

I once had SRM-007t which I used to drive the SR-007mk1 I had, and I didn't like that amp, so I'm also not getting anymore Stax amps.
However if Stax comes out with a new flagship Earspeaker, I might end up getting one of those.

Although I doubt anything happening to my BHSE for quite sometime, [ unless I had an accident with it ] if anything did happen and I didn't have the KGSSHV, I could always listen to my LCD-XC or HD-600's or UM Miracles with my Pico Slim. Obviously those headphones and CIEM's with that portable amp aren't to the same SQ level as my 009 / BHSE, but when used with the K-01 the SQ is still very good, and I don't even have to have the Pico Slim's volume on full, especially with the LCD-XC and even less with the UM Miracles.

I'm listening to my SR-009 through my Cavalli Liquid Lightning currently; The SR-009 is already easily the best headphone I have ever heard. I can't imagine much better sound, but I'm excited to see how the Blue Hawaii I ordered will compare.

The BHSE and the LL dont compare, not even close.

Maybe it was my associated equipment but I was very disappointed with the LL... so much so, I sold the LL same day I received!

Just my .02.

I've sworn off making snap decisions about audio gear following my recent experience with some new dCS equipment.  It required 600+ hours of burn-in before it sounded anywhere close to what it cost.

That's quite exciting then actually; I'm anxious to hear the SR-009 through the BHSE as well as a few other amps.

I actually ordered it March of last year, so it's been about 15 months. I'm okay with the wait though, as long as I get it eventually.

It might be time for you to get rid of the LL though.  Once the BHSEs start to ship, there will be plenty of lesser stats amps flooding the market.

You should be in this batch then. Lucky you.

That's a good point. It's definitely something I'm considering. I don't really need to sell it though, and I planned on doing some extensive testing comparing the LL and BHSE. Who knows, maybe I'll prefer the LL (but that seems unlikely based on the reviews and opinions here). I think I might just keep both for now and sell whichever amp I end up liking less later (hopefully after the flood of lesser stat amps is gone).
