Headamp Blue Hawaii Special Edition

The silver version requires extra testing because they are built to a higher standard to produce increased frequency response and less distortion.  Unfortunately this premium upgrade takes a little longer because of this additional testing, but it's worth it.

You can always get it painted black, reduce the testing, and have it sooner.

I order black color, but I still was still waiting.

So help me out guys, Im on the fence about placing my order...

Over the last 12 months, I have upgraded/graduated to top level headphone and source gear, and (imo), only lack an upper level amplifier.

Would like to hear from members that have BHSE orders in, I want to know how long you have been waiting.

Thank you.

I have not had to wait as long as some people, I had placed my order in June of this year. I would say that if you cannot stand long waiting periods you might want to order something else or find a store that ordered one of the current production run.
I would however say that there are some advantages to the waiting period. I found it useful to use the extra time to save the rest of the money required beyond the deposit. I have also spent the time enjoying my other gear, which is likely to take a back seat for a while when I receive the amp.

I suggest that you place an order on one while it is still available.  There is no guarantee that Justin will offer the BHSE two years from now.  Like every other mfgs, the bread & butter are in the portable amplifiers & DACs business.  His workmanship and attention to details are the best in the business, especially on the BHSEs.

I'd just do it.  The consensus (not 100% but very close to it), is that there isn't a better headphone amp out there.  If you get shut out of the current run you might want to pick up something else (like an Eddie Current Balancing Act and some HD800s, or another Stat amp) to make the wait more tolerable.  My understanding is that there are a couple guys who have been waiting about 2 years. There are a few of us who placed our orders 10-12 months ago.

While I was waiting for the BHSE, I was using a Stax SRM-717 with a good results.  The KGSS is also a great great choice given that you already have either the SR007 or 009.  The SMR-727II mod is also another candidate.  You can also commission someone to build the KGSSHV as well.  Those come real close to the BHSE according to many.

Even if you go with a different top end amplifier you are looking at a minimum of about 4-6 months wait, most likely.

buy the malvalve headamp three, you will get it immediately,

1. because this is a professional company
2. if they promise something to you--- they stay to the word.
3. you will get a tube amp you could use with Stax and dynamic headphones
same price as BHSE

from one of germans top tube-amp companies.

Careful with your words, you imply Justin is not professional, when nothing could be further from the truth.

Also, Malvalve may be a great amp, but it is lesser known than the amps I was referring to such as the Lightning/A10/Electra/etc that normally take a while after you order.

2 years to build an amp, delivery dates that never happened, information behavior, just remember the wednesday update misery.... how do you call that!

the malvalve headamp is new on the market, thats the reason.

Not sure saying that headamp is not a professional company is going to make the malvalve any more popular.

They might be professional, but that website is beyond horrendous. In fact there are no words to describe it. Any mobile phones can take better pictures than that ridiculous stuff. I'd hope the gear is quite a bit better.
