Thank you. I think you've just made the decision for me. And of course $40 is totally worth the peace of mind of knowing I'll have the warranty when/if I need it.

Lowest-Price Guarantee won't price-match Amazon or eBay offers, though. And the Price Grabber offer was on Amazon.

Read this below (as long as they are an authorised dealer they'll price match):

"We easily beat Amazon service and we will beat any Amazon prices.

Attention: Amazon resellers are not Amazon and there have been confirmed reports of counterfeit products offered at eBay. Shure, Sennheiser, Denon and other manufacturers have reported this on their websites.

We do not price match eBay resellers and Amazon resellers. Amazon resellers are NOT Amazon and most of them are NOT Authorized Dealers. They are here today, gone tomorrow. Our company prides itself in providing excellent customer service for over 14 years. If you need help getting your product repaired a year from today, we will be here!
"

Price Grabber has only sold 26 items on Amazon!

I agree. I've come to the recent conclusion that Amazon marketplace is equal to Ebay in reliability of sellers. I got a pair of X10's there that were from an unauthorized dealer. They are real in this case. But I probably don't have a warranty on something that I bought new.

There are good sellers on the marketplace, such as manufacturers that are selling their own goods there (NuForce for example). But there are also sellers that are there because they are selling unauthorized "grey market" goods (such as old versions of products, foreign market versions, etc.), and they feel Amazon gives them legitimacy. Which should not be the case. Selling on Amazon marketplace makes them no more legitimate than selling on Ebay.

(Rant off)
