i put this at this forum because i believe that this question hits the amplification region mostly.

how possible can it be that different countries have difference in the power supply qualities? (hi-end is the place to see it)
how big can the difference be? anyone compared?

AdamZuf: Actually, you will find more variation from place to place than from country to country. The kind of dirt on the net varies with the surroundings (and, of course, the house installation, too...) - for example, you can exspect more heavy spikes and brown-outs in industrial surroundings, whereas you'd have a lot of higher frequency dirt in a bureau place with a lot of neon lights and computer power supplies running. For home use, the power quality tends to be best from 2 - 5 o'clock a.m. in most areas.

Greetings from Munich!
