Has any one had any problems with the cords cracking on their SCL4's? On mine, after the split, each one has 2 or 3 cracks down to the wire, and I've only had them since December. Just under normal use, one of the cracks is in the part that you wrap over the top of your ear, so just from bending, the cord split. Also, how is Shure with warranty claims?

If you bought your earphones from an authorized dealer (will need to e-mail Shure to find out) they're excellent with their warranty. If you bought your phones from a non-authorized dealer there's still hope since they are not in the 'SE' line (SE420). I live about 2 miles from the Shure headquarters in Niles, IL and the sign on the wall in their service department only mentions 'SE' headphones needing an authorized dealer.

Shoot them an e-mail and hope for the best.

Shure earphones are well-known for having this problem, and Shure is equally well-known for replacing them without a question when this happens. On mine, they did not ask for a receipt. They were E2c.
