ok, Ive been reading up on both of these and need to choose 1 to try now (cant get both due to cost)

I currently have a pair of Ety HF5s but find them uncomfortable....though I suppose they sound good (although I only have the ADDIEMS to compare them to). Whatever I get does not have to sound like the Etys though, so dont let that be the deciding factor

My needs:
--must be comfortable and fit well in small ears (I also must have really shallow ear canals or something b/c it feels like the HF5s are gonna come out the other side of my head lol)

--must work well for a variety of music--- female vocals, pop, rock.....but also some classical, hip hop etc (no trance, heavy metal etc)

--must sound good un-amped. Im using an iphone or ipod and dont want to have to use an amp to get good sound

--must not suffer from horrible microphonics ....this is where Im worried about the X10 b/c I keep reading how bad the microphonics are with these....how do the Q-jays rate?

If the Q-jays would be your choice, where is the best place to buy them? Online from the UK? (Im in the US)

Would appreciate any help...I just cant figure out which would be better since both have been recommended for small ears

I abandoned my Q-Jays and gave them to my bride for two reasons: I hate changing the filtres; I often had seemingly one channel cut out; and I had a really hard time pulling these out of my ears without tugging on the cord. I removed the flitres and gave them to my wife and she loves them, gym and all.

I then bought the X10s and have really enjoyed for real comfort easy fit and isolation. They are better sounding than the Q-Jays but not by a huge amount.

So, for the criteria you list, both are very comfortable and fit small ears; they both work well for classical and jazz which are my preferences, and remembering that both those genres have a huge variety of different types of music within them; and are fine unamped (but better amped!). The only challenge is microphonics (and the shorter length of cords), but with a shirt clip or having the cords go down your back, I am pretty sure you will find a way to manage the microphonics.

Personally, I would suggest the X10s. But they're both pretty damn good.
