I'm really excited, just unboxed them, they look great. I was trying them on for size, and I only got a decent seal with the foams. Do foams last forever? or do you have to switch them out every certain amount of time. Since I don't want to keep buying them if you do, what are some good non-foam tips to go with? Secondly, I can't burn them in, because I'm going to be away for a while starting tomorow, and my ipod won't sync to the computer. Is it bad if I burn them in with random music as opposed to pink noise? Will it not burn in as well? Thanks, and I'm really liking them after a five minute quick listen. Thanks!

Burning them in with music is just fine. Theoretically, they would just burn in slower since the music does not hit all the audible frequencies. It won't hurt the headphones in any way.

I'm not sure about the black foam of the NE-7M's, but Comply's definitely do not last for ever. Some people change them regularly, but I think I'm just going to wash them instead using soap+water, and then some hydrogen peroxide.

Any silicon tips should last a really long time. They don't break down, and you can clean them by soaking them in mildly soaped water.

I have tried a bunch of tips with my NE-7Ms. Comply T-400s, Shure E2C silicone's, cheap bi-flanges off of ebay, of course the stock tips, and lastly Sony hybrids. I have had the best results with the Sony hybrids. For me, they are comfortable, provide a good seal, and decent isolation. To be fair, the build quality of the Shure tips is very good. They don't work for me because I ordered medium and should have gotten large. If I were not so happy with the Sony's, I would order another set of them in large. YMMV.

thanks. About the tips, I really don't want foams, although I get the best fit, because I don't want to keep going through pairs. Are there any good non-foam ne-7m fitting tips, maybe bi-flanges? Thanks
